To provide effective and efficient services to its clients, the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC) set up offices in all the regions with the exception of Region 5 and 8.

The reason why there is no GLSC Office in Region 5 is because most of Lands are privately owned lands and those that are not privately owned lands are under the control of the Mahaica-Mahaicony-Abary/ Agri-Development Authority (MMAADA). In Region 8, most of the land is under the control of the Guyana Forestry Commission and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, however, the GLSC also managed the lands that do not fall into these categories.

Services Offered

The following services are offered by the regional offices:

1. Advise Clients on the application processes, related costs associated with the application process and their long term obligation in relation to State Lands.
2. Taking in and processing applications for State and Government Lands.
3. Receiving payment for Rents and all Related Fees.
4. Process application for Transfer of Lease.
5. Process application for Mortgages.
6. Issuing Leases.
7. Sells maps
8. Surveying
9. Facilitates Alternative Dispute Resolution for State Lands

Location and Information on Regional Offices

Region 1: Barima-Waini

The GLSC Sub-Office for Region 1 is located at Mabaruma. It is housed in the Regional Democratic Council Compound.

Region 2: Pomeroon- Supernaam

The GLSC Sub-Office for Region 2 is located at Takuba Lodge, Anna Reginna, Essequibo Coast. The Accounts and Enquiries Office is located in the Multi Complex Building at the Takuba Lodge.

Region 3: Essequibo Islands – West Demerara

The GLSC Sub-Office for Region 3 is located at Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara.

Region 4: Demerara – Mahaica

The GLSC Sub-Office for Region 4 is located at 22 Upper Hadfield Street, Durban Backlands, Georgetown. Also there is a desk in Cane Grove located at the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority building. Lessees can pay their rent and make all other enquires at this Office.

Region 6: East Berbice – Corentyne

The GLSC have three Sub-Offices in Region 6, one is located at New Amsterdam, one at Corriverton and the other one in Black Bush Polder is located at 22 Upper Hadfield Street, Durban Backlands, Georgetown.

The main Sub-Office is located at New Amsterdam. The other two offices are sub-offices to the New Amsterdam Office.

Region 7: Cuyuni – Mazaruni

Region 8: Potaro – Siparuni

At present, GLSC do not have an office in this Region. The activities in this Region are managed from Region 10 with assistance from Head Office when necessary.
